Hmm...

Well, all of my design team projects are officially completed and up. WooHoo! That's one thing off my list. Now it's back to my Etsy projects! Stay tuned for more updates.

Last night I got 6 1/2 hours of uninterrupted sleep which, sadly, is amazing for a weeknight. So, why am I feeling so out-of-sorts today? I was just fine until 2 hours ago. Now, I'm feeling easily frustrated and mildly grumpy. Hmm... It looks like it's going to be a long afternoon. :(

Uugh...

It seems that I really need to buy a new 2009-2010 appointment calendar. You see, I thought that I had 2 appointments last week: a dental cleaning on Wednesday (1/14) and a hair cut on Friday (1/16). Well...I had to reschedule my cleaning, because I'd been sick. Because of the weather, I made plans to leave work 10 minutes early so that I could make it to Reactions on time. Well, I did make it by 5PM. However, it turned out my appointment is actually this week on the 23rd. Brilliant. Just brilliant. I'll be buying a calendar tomorrow.

-10...Seriously?!

I. Do. Not. Like. The. Cold. Is -10 even a real temperature? It's days like today that make me wonder why I ever decided to move to "the frozen tundra." Lake effect makes all the difference in the world. Expect to add an additional 3-5 inches of snow and subtract 5-10 degrees from the reading on the thermometer. Today, the inside of my nose froze during my short 2-block walk from my car to the office. Ugh! I will say that it was nice to see Mr. Sun today - even if it was short-lived. Come back soon...please?!

Snow, snow, go away...and don't come back!

I am really getting tired of "the white stuff." We have gotten about 8" of it in the last 2 days -- with more on the way. If it would only fall in the yards and stay off the streets, sidewalks, parking lots, and my car, I'd be a very happy girl. Since it's only the 2nd week of January, I guess we'll probably get quite a bit more before it's over. Oh well...

More exciting news, if you're a "Twifan"...

I ran across two more exciting pieces of news today. First, Taylor Lautner will be reprising the role of Jacob Black in New Moon. I also received an e-mail from Summit Entertainment confirming this. Second, Summit is planning to release Twilight on DVD on March 21st. That's kind of unusual, because the 21st is a Saturday and movies and CDs are usually released on Tuesdays. But, anyway, that means that my little party is but a short 2 1/2 months away...I guess I'd better start cleaning! ;)

What a small world...

There are several blogs that I read on a regular basis. One of them is by one of my fave designers, Elsie Flannigan. Well, she posted today that her amazingly talented boyfriend, Jeremy, has been invited to perform with MuteMath when they appear on the Tonight Show on the 15th. They will be performing their new release, Spotlight, which also appears on the Twilight soundtrack. What a small, small world?!

A New Year...A Time For Change

I swore off setting new year's resolutions a long time ago. It just sounds so ominous and formal. Instead, I like to think of the New Year as an opportunity for new beginnings. An excuse to clean house, both literally and figuratively. A chance to try new things. That's the secret - to just try without the pressure to be perfect.

So, what are my aspirations for 2009? Well, for starters, I am planning to open my Etsy store by the end of January. No pressure there... I am also planning to host my first party in my "new" apartment some time this spring. The date's TBA, pending the DVD release of a certain movie currently showing at a theatre near you. ;) Of course, that means I have a lot of unpacking, sorting, cleaning, and organizing to do in the next couple of months. I have recently renewed my Fitness USA membership, so I'm planning on putting that to good use as well. I have also promised myself to make better food choices - with the occasional "junk" allowance.

So, I encourage everyone reading this (you know, all 3 of you ;) to use this beginning as an opportunity to try something new - take a yoga class, eat sushi - something that you've always wanted to do but, for whatever reason, never have. And, most importantly, have a very happy new year!
